My Songs Banner Ad

“My Songs” is a compilation CD from Universal Music/UMTV. It comprises 2 CDs worth of various tracks with a feel-good theme, aimed at a predominantly female audience. As part of the digital campaign Universal/UMTV needed engaging and exciting creative for a Yahoo Super Expandable (XXL) banner. This format is one of the larger online advertising formats, so provides a great opportunity to create something impactful.
The banner would need to serve the TV trailer, deliver a strong call-to-action, and creatively synergise with the album art. Drawing inspiration from the trailer, I set about to re-create the floral designs, in order to animate them. I saw this as a fitting extension to the overall concept, and one that would bring the creative to life. I visualised the flora literally growing onto the stage, with subtle movement throughout to really present this ad as a premium piece.
Once the ad was tested, the whole banner was then uploaded to the third-party ad serving platform (MediaMind), live links added and then trafficked for delivery.
