“Tell ‘Em I’m Gone” is the latest album from the legendary Yusuf Islam (the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens). For the UK marketing campaign we created press advertising across several music publications and broadsheets for client Sony Music.
As is the case with many campaigns, we took our style cue and adapted the album artwork, extending the idea into a campaign-able format. We were required to include his current and former monikers on the ad, so re-created the ‘Cat Stevens’ logotype seen on previous marketing materials. Once the main layout was approved we began rolling out the basic composition to a variety of formats and publications, in each case preparing for print on several ad publishing platforms including Specle.
